Day trip to a local wild life preserve

Today, we took a little day trip. Something totally out of the norm for us on a Saturday, but we were invited and gladly accepted. We may have to do this more often. We had a great time.

We went to a wild life preserve's "duck daze" where they had lots of fun activities for the kids to do, including a petting zoo, which is always a hit with my kids. Of course, I am the mean mom that doesnt like to go "in" with the animals....stepping in poo is not my idea of fun ;) But they don't know any different and had fun feeding the animals through the gate ;)

Feeding the Sheep. Reminds me of how God takes care of those little details from feeding the animals to keeping us fed and taken care of.

The first borns of our family actually getting along today...must be the fresh air.

Wondering if we will get some of these Mama.....they're fun to pet.

It really was beautiful and a nice change of scenery......be blessed this weekend.

Let me start by saying we had a great time with Gina and her kiddos yesterday at our home-school groups last park day/book sale. It was at a water park and they had soooo much fun! I'm even sporting a farmers tan today as a result ;p Here are a few pics of the day (there are a lot because I always have a hard time choosing which ones to put up! LOL).

We had a great time and plan on visiting this park a lot this summer!


As for the madness.....lets just say I am in the middle of quite a few projects this weekend and haven't the energy to complete them all! Tonight I need to bake 2 cakes for a "pool cake" I am making for Big A's Bday party (He turned 10 last Monday) and a Homemade pinata (that needs like a bazillion layers and years to dry in between!) amongst many other things I am in the middle of doing. My sourdough starter is ready, but It will have to wait until next week to be used until I have the time to bake!

By the way, I am 4 months pregnant today! I am having some thyroid issues but God is so good to provide me with "just enough" to get by and provide these memories for my children..amen?

Birthday Party Fun!

Yesterday we went to a dear friends twin girls birthday party:-) The kids enjoyed the pool for most of the day...
And my dd enjoyed the "salt water" system they had installed...(the reason her tounge is hanging out..lol

And here's one of my ds who said forget the goodie bag....I'm using my shirt for all that candy! There was about 15 lbs of candy stuffed into one pinata..lol..it only lasted through about 3 beatings from the little ones!

Awwwww...they had fun..I sat around and ate fruit salad...it was a good day :-)
