Snakes. Seriously.

You know, I really like living in the country. I really do. There is one thing I can do without though, and that is snakes.

In my garage.

UGH!!!!

Thankfully, hubs had a glue trap in the garage..this sucker was up on the wall next to my dryer.

Moving sounds great, right about now ;)

Happy Birthday Middle A!

Today was Middle A's 6th birthday!  She requested homemade pizza and a Sonic the Hedgehog Birthday cake. Yup. She's a girlie girl...not! LOL I made her cake as best as I could using what I had (which is NOTHING when it comes to cake decorating..lol). It turned out decent and she was happy...that is all that matters, right?

I'm a little bummed because I wanted to post this montage of pictures from her as a newborn on up, but they happen to be on my crashed hard drive...oh well. To top it off, my sd card was full, so I had to use hub's ipod to take these pics...arggghh. LOL

(ha, ignore the undies and half of Gramma lol)

Happy Birthday, Middle A. Mommy and Daddy love you!

March Madness!

This post isn't about basketball, sorry. I'll let you leave now... if that was why you came to visit my little ol' blog ;)

Ok, now that they have left (you know, those Laker freaks, I mean fans) I'll get to what this post really is about. Busyness and a lot of it! But, what a blessing it has been, because not being able to be home really brings me to the point of desiring home and all that it entails to be a homemaker. I don't miss those days of being constantly out-and-about.

I really don't.

I totally see that now.

These last couple of months have reminded me of what life was like once upon a time when hubs and I had our own business, and I was in constant motion. Traveling from here to there, eating out constantly, and coming home to a house in chaos, because no one has really been home to keep it. I am so glad those days are long gone. I kept telling myself that this was just a season, and it to shall pass....and it will soon. So I just keep my eyes toward what the Lord has called me to do......Until the next season.....but for today........I took some time to breathe. To sit and watch my children as I used to. Just really take in the moments I have with them and watch them play and interact with each other. I have always been a people watcher. Now I just watch my children mostly, and that is just as fun. Here is a little glimpse of a small amount of time I was able to capture today in the midst of all our busyness.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...........

Baby Chick Update

Photobucket

Just wanted to update that our baby chicks are all doing well. Getting bigger, and messier, and noiser.....but all is well with them ;) We are bringing one of the out every day to socialize with the children (and to teach the children to handle them properly) but the baby seems to think that she can grab them by their heads and squeeze them. Needless to say, she is not allowed to play when they are out and about LOL.

Outside today...

We are trying something new this year with our gardening....a little experiment. Something less permanent than planting in the ground. We actually bought plants instead of seed also...just to experiment. Yup, its kinda early here for gardening (although the temperature has been in the 70's and NICE), but we are, and like I said....its all experimental:)

We'll see if it works in a few weeks....

Adding to our family....

We are now the proud owners of 4 Rhode Island Red and 6 Buff Orpington Hens!

Middle A was so excited to see that we were getting chicks!!  And has taken to them right away :)

Little A- Not so much. Well he just doesnt want to hold them---yet ;)

Big A has said he will be helping me feed and water them daily....such a good, responsible boy (and this is my proof that he said that!)

Free Range Organic eggs for us this summer! I hope, that is if I can keep them alive ;) (Pray for this city girl!)
