After our morning routine of waking, personal devotions and bible study, we all had breakfast and did our morning chores. After that, we met together in the family room for our family bible study time. Together we sang "This Little Light of Mine", had some prayer time, and read from our Keys for Kids devotional. I then got everyone settled on their individual lessons of math. Big A at the computer with his D.I.V.E Cd for Saxon Math, and the littles all to the table. After Big A was done at the computer he moved to the dining room so he could be nearby to get help if needed, but not so close that he is distracted by everyone else.
Everyone always needs to have something to do. Today, a puzzle kept baby A busy so I could work on Math with Middle A and Little A (who just tags along for preschool, but is learning alot in doing so!)
Middle A enjoys doing Horizons Math for K and I love it! Its very easy to teach and the lessons are short, which is great since I try to integrate some CM methods in our homeschool.
After we were finished with Math (well, Big A was still working on his which takes about 1 1/2 hours a day), we started working on our Abeka Phonics lessons. Again, Little A tagged along as long as he possibly could, but then got sent to our little "quiet play area" (the hallway) to play with beans. Those beans sure do keep him quiet (longer than 5 mins I tell ya!)
Once I was done doing my teaching, I sat them down with a little craft of ripping paper (which would be glued into the current letter sound we are working on ;) while I nursed the baby and put her down for a nap (she doesnt normally take a nap this early but woke up earlier than usual today..so we just shifted her nap a bit). By this time, Big A was done with his math and working on his ACE word building.
After that craft was done and the baby was down for a nap, I put on a Leap Frog movie (did you know that Netflix has a lot of these on instant watch?!) while I made some important phone calls and got a few chores done. I then worked on Big A's Rod and Staff English with him and then sent him on his way to finish up. That took him about 15 mins and then he read 3 chapters from "The Sword in the Tree".
After I was finished with my calls and chores I read to the littles aloud from a fun book called "When the Rooster Crowed". by Patricia Lillie . They loved the story so much that we took out their Melissa and Doug Farm set so they could play and act out the story. While they were playing I turned on our MOH audio cd's and Big A listened to his history lesson.
I won't lie. I listened while I made lunch, too. It's interesting stuff!
Once lunch was eaten, and all our mess was cleaned, the baby woke up. I decided to sit with her a while and do some things on the computer. We've had a ton of rain (as you'll hear in a minute from Big A) so I needed something to keep the littles busy while Baby A and I relaxed a bit. When asked what they wanted to do, Little A said PAINT!!! Normally I shiver at the thought, but what the heck....its raining, they are bored, and I get to win "BEST MOM AWARD!" so I let them :)

Today was a nature walk sort of day. I kicked him outside to get hands on with his studies of the weather. He needed to really see what the weather was like....even if it was pouring hehe. Not really...he begged me to go out in it.. This was like a 2 sec pic and then he ran inside and said he was FREEZING. Duh. Put on a jacket next time ;)
After this we did a video on his "weather forecast".......pay close attention to the end of the video ;p
The kids are doing some exercises on the Wii while I blog, but soon as I am finished they will be in their rooms cleaning up while I do some more chores and get dinner on the stove. I am sure there were some interruptions in there of needing to change a diaper, pick up a baby wanting to be held, or referring some sibling rivalry, but for the most part that has been our morning thus far (and its still early here as I have been writing this post).
I am hoping that most of our week is similar to today. Things have really flowed nicely and we got all of the things done that I have planned (and some extras thrown in which is always fun!).
