(knew this was going to be a good week after seeing this sunrise)
Its been a while since i have posted one of these! We are just getting into our groove now and I am feeling much more confident in my choices for this year to finally have the time be able to share with you a summary of what we've been doing!
Big A has been working really hard on his school work and is really actually enjoying school for the first time in a long time (which is totally foreign to me since I did NOT like school at.all.)
This week Big A has....
...memorized Matthew 5:5 and learned about the meekness of Christ in Bible Truths and how to apply it to his own life.
.....completed 5 lessons of Math and aced his chapter test.
.........read about Columbus and Abraham Lincoln in his Explorations in Literature book.
.....Completed two lessons in grammar and took his first chapter test.
....learned the the modern classification system was proposed by Carolus Linnaeus, A Swedish Botanist and Taxonomist, and that human mistakes can be made in that process (because we are human ;)
....learned about towns and trade in how merchants and craftmen in the Middle Ages formed themselves into guilds to be more organized and regulated.
....completed lesson 3 in his Vocab book and learned that the process of adapting the sound and spelling of the prefix when it joins a word is called assimilation.
.......is enjoying listening in on Adventures of Reddy Fox by Thorton Burgess and thinks its hilarious (even though its for the little kids :) Gotta love that!
{and the biggest thing he learned is how to duck and weave the camera apparently, because I cant believe I dont have ONE picture of his work this week O.o}
Middle A.......
......Completed Unit 2 in Little Hearts for His Glory and loved the coloring activity we did. Little A has been tagging along in LHFHG with her whenever he feels like it and as you can see here, its usually for the art projects ;)
Here is Middle A's completed rainbow heart :) Sorry about the flash :(
OH! I forgot. We decided to go another route with Phonics and Reading! We are using CLE Learn to Read and just started this week! We had been using ETC, but its just not enough instruction for ME. I love having all of her LA subjects together also. Here's one of the lessons we did this week.
.......She completed a few lessons in BJU Math as well. She just loves the clown Digit in her lessons!
...........spent alot of time chasing chickens off our porch. Again!
......found a ladybug and check it out with their magnifying glass while on their "nature walk"....
On another note....
Baby A is doing so well! She had an appt this week with her Rheumatologist and has very little inflammation left in her joints. As a matter of fact, the only joint inflamed is her right ring finger...stubborn little thing! So we are hoping that goes away soon, but she has totally mobility in it and it doesnt seem to bother her much :)

What an awesome week, Amber! I loved this week in review. I hope you do them all year. :-)
Wow! What an amazing sunrise!...And the fact that you were up early enough to see it! LOL. Looks like a very productive week you had. Glad everyone's finding their groove over there.
Nancy
Oh my kids would love those chickens!
But I think they'd play with them all day long and we'd never get any school done - LOL.
It looks like you are really accomplishing a lot this year! (And it's funny because my older two totally listen in on all of our HOD reading, too.) ;-)
